Pakistan Women’s Cricketer Ayesha Naseem Retires at the Age of 18
Ayesha Naseem, a young Pakistani women’s cricketer, has announced her retirement from international cricket at the age of 18. She made this decision in order to live her life in accordance with the teachings of Islam. Ayesha has officially informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about her retirement.
“I have decided to leave cricket and focus on living my life according to the principles of Islam,” Ayesha stated to the PCB.
Impressive International Career
Ayesha Naseem made her international debut in March 2020 and represented Pakistan in four women’s ODIs and 30 women’s T20Is. Throughout her short international career, she scored a total of 402 runs.
A notable moment in Ayesha’s career occurred in January 2023 when she played a cameo against Australia in a WT20I match in Sydney. In that game, she scored 24 runs off 20 balls, including three sixes and a four. This performance earned her recognition from cricket legend Wasim Akram, who described her as a “serious talent” on Twitter.
