The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued a media release on July 17, sharing important details from the meeting. The final schedule is likely to be announced this week. The opening match is scheduled to take place in Pakistan, and the PCB looks forward to welcoming cricket fans from around the world.

Hybrid Model for Asia Cup 2023

Last month, the Asian Cricket Council announced the dates and venues for the Asia Cup 2023. The tournament will be held with a hybrid model, as per PCB’s demand. BCCI refused to travel to Pakistan due to government clearance and security concerns. The proposed hybrid model, with matches in both Pakistan and Sri Lanka, was accepted by ACC members, including India.

Matches in Pakistan and Sri Lanka

The ACC confirmed that four matches will be played in Pakistan and nine in Sri Lanka. The tournament will take place from August 31 to September 17. Earlier, there were reports of Pakistan requesting more matches, but IPL chairman Arun Dhumal clarified that only four games will be hosted in Pakistan.
