England Dominates Day 2 of Ashes Test
On Day 2 of the fourth Ashes 2023 Test, England displayed exceptional batting skills after dismissing Australia for 317 runs in 90.2 overs. England ended the day with a score of 384, leading by 67 runs with six wickets remaining.
Australia’s Innings
Australia, starting their innings at 299/8, added 18 valuable runs before being bowled out by England. Chris Woakes was the standout bowler for England, taking five wickets. Stuart Broad also contributed with two wickets.
England’s Innings
England lost opener Ben Duckett early, but Zak Crawley and Moeen Ali formed a partnership of 121 runs for the second wicket. Moeen scored 54 runs off 82 deliveries, while Crawley delivered a sensational performance with 189 runs, including 21 fours and 3 sixes. Joe Root also contributed 84 runs before getting dismissed. Unfortunately, both Crawley and Root missed out on scoring a century.
Root’s Dismissal
Root’s dismissal was particularly disappointing, as he fell victim to a low delivery from Josh Hazlewood, which hit the toe end of his bat and crashed into the stumps. Root was visibly surprised by the delivery.
