Crucial Breakthrough for India
Siraj’s catch proved to be a crucial breakthrough for India, as they dominated the first session, taking four wickets and restricting the home team to just 68 runs. Earlier, India’s pacers struggled, but Ravichandran Ashwin provided the much-needed breakthrough by dismantling Tagenarine Chanderpaul’s stumps. Kraig Brathwaite followed suit, getting caught by Rohit Sharma at covers. Shardul Thakur also contributed with a well-directed delivery that induced an edge, dismissing Raymon Reifer. Despite a solid partnership between Blackwood and debutant Athanaze, Blackwood lost his wicket right before the lunch break due to an aggressive shot.
