Board of Control for Cricket in India Provides Update on Injured Players
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued a medical update on the fitness of five key players who are currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.
Injured Players and their Progress
Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna
The two fast bowlers are in the final stages of their rehab and are bowling with full intensity in the nets. They will now play some practice games organized by the NCA. The BCCI Medical Team is pleased with their progress and will make a final decision after assessing them following the practice games.
KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer
Rahul and Iyer have resumed batting in the nets and are currently undergoing strength and fitness drills. The BCCI Medical Team is satisfied with their progress and will increase their intensity in terms of both skills and strength and conditioning in the coming days.
Rishabh Pant
Pant has made significant progress in his rehabilitation and has commenced batting as well as keeping in the nets. He is currently following a fitness program designed for him which includes strength, flexibility, and running.
World Cup and Future Matches
With the World Cup just over two months away, India hopes to have all five players fully fit. Before the tournament, India will play against Ireland (3 T20Is), Asia Cup 2023 (5/6 ODIs), and Australia (3 ODIs) after the ongoing tour of West Indies.
