The India captain needed 26 runs to achieve the milestone. She extends her run as the highest run-getter in women’s cricket.
Second to her is England’s Charlotte Edwards with 5,992 runs in ODI’s, followed by Australia’s Belinda Clark with 4,884 runs.
Dismissed for 45 in the 4th ODI, Mithali has so far scored 7019 runs from 213 ODIs in a career of 21 years and 261 days, with seven centuries and 54 half-centuries at an average of 50.53. She has already become the most capped women cricketer in the history of the game, playing 311 international matches so far.
Previously she achieved 10000 runs mark in International cricket and everyone congratulate her for that achievement.
